Alonzetta Simpkins
Alonzetta Simpkins is a dedicated public servant, educator, and community leader proudly serving as Gadsden County Commissioner for District 2. With a deep commitment to the residents of Gadsden County, she has built her leadership on a foundation of service, accessibility, and results—guided by her motto, “Still Serving, Still Delivering.”

A lifelong advocate for education, Commissioner Simpkins brings over 15 years of experience in the Gadsden County school system. As an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Resource Teacher at Carter Parramore Academy, she has worked tirelessly to support students and families, earning recognition as Teacher of the Year in 2021. Her professional expertise in program planning, needs assessment, and budget management directly informs her thoughtful, community-focused approach to governance.

During her time in office, Commissioner Simpkins has prioritized community engagement, public safety, and infrastructure improvements. She has worked to ensure residents’ voices are heard by hosting community events, supporting local initiatives, and advocating for practical solutions such as improved public safety lighting and neighborhood development.

Her commitment to service extends far beyond her official role. She has been actively involved in organizations such as the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade and Christ Crusaders, Inc., and is the founder of Radiant Life Changers, an organization dedicated to uplifting and assisting local families. Her work spans education, youth empowerment, healthcare awareness, and community support.

Commissioner Simpkins is a proud graduate of James A. Shanks High School and has continued her education at Barry University and Jones International University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Professional Administration and a Master of Education.

A devoted wife to Steven Simpkins and mother of four, she is also an active member of Saint Hebron African Methodist Episcopal Church. Her faith, family, and passion for service continue to inspire her leadership.

As she seeks re-election, Commissioner Simpkins remains committed to building a stronger, safer, and more connected Gadsden County—working every day to serve with integrity, dedication, and purpose, still serving and still delivering for the people of District 2
